Kate Middleton and Prince William are backing up their legal threats over the Duchess of Cambridge’s bare-breasted photos.

The royal couple has filed a complaint in a French court; they are looking for justice against those who dispersed pictures of Kate. Prior to this they launched an injunction in a civil case against Closer Magazine for allegedly violating their privacy by publishing the topless photos of Middleton.

They were hoping to immediately get the issues taken off of the shelves in France. However, that is not the only thing they have been dealing with, Chi, the Closer’s Italian sister publication, published a large spread of the images. Nevertheless, so far there have not been any legal actions taken in Italy.

Shortly after being sued, on Friday, Closer removed the photos from their website. It may be difficult for the couple to get justice though as the paparazzo who took the photos has not come forward.

“She’s not our future queen,” stated Daily Star editor Mike O’Kane. “The duchess would be no different to any other celeb pics we would get in, for example, Rihanna or Lady Gaga.”

However, according to French law, those convicted of violating the couple’s privacy could face a year jail sentence, and be forced to pay thousands of euros in fines.
