Kate Middleton Charities – Kate Middleton announces the charities that she will be taking on.

The Duchess of Cambridge has chosen where she intends on leading a helping hand. She has decided to support the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, The Scout Association, Action on Addiction, and the Art Room and National Portrait Gallery.

According to a palace statement, the Middleton chose charities that are complementary to the charitable work that her husband, Prince Williams, is involved in.

Kate, soon to be 30-year-old, has accepted the honorary position of Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), which helps support families and care or young people who have life-threatening illnesses.

Their care and support include music therapy, hydrotherapy, short break care, parent and sibling groups, specialist play activities, care at the end of life, and bereavement support for family members.

On January 5th 2012, Middleton was announced as the patronage of Action on Addiction, which is the only Untied Kingdom charity that works across the addiction field with prevention, research, workforce development, treatment, and support for families.

Another charity close to Kate’s heart is the Art Room and National Portrait Gallery. It is more than just a leading art space for the country; this organization uses art in a less conventional way.

The Art Room uses art in the form of therapy for children who have special needs such as low self-esteem and Asperger’s syndrome. All the charities that the Duchess of Cambridge chose were extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with her.
