Kate Middleton is fighting constant cravings for lavender shortbread and her pregnancy is still causing acute morning sickness for the Duchess. In fact, she has been ordering cases of the treat ever since she learned it cured traditional stomach sickness.
“A lot of women develop cravings during pregnancy and Kate is no exception. She has got a real taste for these biscuits,” a royal source said in a statement.
The Lavender ingredient itself is said to have healing properties, so it is not such a wacky food to nibble on when you’re going through a pregnancy.
Middleton has also been receiving gift boxes of the sugary snacks from other members of the royal family as soon as they heard it helped her morning sickness.
Another interesting fact is that treats are also sold by her father-in-law under the Prince Charles’ Duchy Originals organic food brand.
Earlier this month, the Duchess of Cambridge – who spent four days at the King Edward VII Hospital in London, where she was being treated for acute morning sickness – was said to be craving papaya fruit.
“[Kate] particularly wants papaya fruit and they’re busy making plans for Christmas. She’s already feeling much better and, as they do with everything, they’re getting through the ordeal by making each other laugh,” said Jessica Hay, a former Middleton friend from school.
