Most expensive classic cars. Classic car buyers line up at auctions to purchase the most expensive vehicles for their timeless appeal. Expensive cars are a man’s hobby, and most of these classic automobiles remain in garages.

Expensive cars are nice to have if you’re a collector. Most people buy them to show off, or to attend a classic auto show to win big prizes. It is also a booming market for auctions.

Classic automobiles can sell upwards to $12 million. We were surprised to find out that most of the top 10 expensive cars that sold at auctions were sold in the millions. Listed below are vehicles that recently sold at the Monterey Classic Car event.

1 – 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa ($12.2 million)
2 – 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder. ($10.9 million)
3 – 1931 Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe ($9.7 million)
4 – 1962 Ferrari 330 TRI/LM Testa Rossa ($9.2 million)
5 – 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster ($8.2 million)
6 – 1929 Mercedes-Benz 38/250 SSK ($7.4 million)
7 – Rolls-Royce 10hp Two-Seater ($7.25 million)
8 – 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe ($7.25 million)
9 – 1931 Bugatti Royale Berline de Voyager ($6.5 million)
10 – 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO ($6.2 million)
