Barack Obama’s Limo broke down on his way to the airport in Israel and had to be towed away.
On Wednesday, the President arrived in Tel Aviv and the limo that was supposed to be awaiting him at his hotel would not start.
Apparently, the driver of the custom General Motors Cadillac limo accidentally putting gas in the engine instead of diesel. Luckily, they had a backup vehicle for instances like this one.
“One of our protective vehicles experienced mechanical problems in Israel earlier today. This is why we bring multiple vehicles and a mechanic on all trips,” said Edwin Donovan, a spokesman for the Secret Service.
“Situations like this are planned for extensively by our advance teams so that the President’s itinerary is unaffected by these types of issues.”
Obama’s limousine, known as the “Beast” by Secret Service Agents, is an estimated eight tons. Most details of this vehicle are classified.
However, we do know that it is sealed against biochemical attacks, has a night-vision system, inches of armor, bulletproof glass, special shocks to absorb blasts, and a blood bank of the President’s blood type.
