Police are on the hunt for Wayne Morgan who’s known as The Wolfman because he’s been living in the woods for the past five years and is known as a hermit.
The 37-year-old British service veteran and survivalist lives on berries and hunts rabbits in the Pantyffynon Woods. Police now fear the Wolfman may not be surviving the current cold winter and hasn’t been seen in his occasional trips to town trash bins for food. He lives in a forrest near the UK town of Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.
Morgan had occasionally been spotted by hikers through the trees, but has not been seen in over a year, and this winter has seen record low temperatures.
Police had previously tried to track Morgan down, because of the suspicions of petty theft due to the stolen milk. However he was always able to elude capture, likely due to the fact he knows the woods so well. The authorities had even used heat seeking technology mounted on a helicopter and sniffer dogs, but all they could ever find were hideouts and areas were he built camp fires.
Local councillor Hugh Evans said, “He is a bit of a Rambo type and pretty tough to have survived the bitterly cold winter living out in the open. The area where he is living is thickly-wooded and forested – the sort of area where it is easy to disappear.”
Meanwhile police have asked the locals to report any sightings of Morgan or the disappearance of any food as it is thought he may be very hungry and may try to get some.
