The helicopter of Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall was forced to make an emergency landing 15 minutes into their flight.
The royal couple had taken off from London, and were on their way to the Hay Literary Festival in Powys when their pilot was forced to land the chopper in Denham Aerodrome in Buckinghamshire.
“The pilot carried out a controlled emergency landing after diverting to the airport,” a spokesman for the royal couple said.
Authorities are still investigating what caused the emergency landing of the helicopter which had five passengers in addition to Prince Charles, and Camilla.
After the chopper landed safely the prince, and the duchess boarded cars and continued to Hay-on-Wye. Once they arrived at the festival they were greeted by several hundred celebrities, authors, and politicians.
“They were unflappable despite what they went through. If anyone else had gone through what they did they would have canceled their day,” one attendee told the Press Association.
