Rachel Wade receives 27 years in teenage murder. Rachel Wade was sentenced to 27 years in prison for killing Sarah Ludemann. Rachel Wade’s fate was decided by a jury in just under three hours.
Wade, who is now 20-year-old, was found guilty of second-degree murder on July 23 after the jury deliberated for less than three hours. She felt compelled to murder Sarah Ludemann because they were involved with the same young man, Joshua Camacho. He is an unemployed 19-year-old who had relationships with both teenagers and a baby with a third young woman.
Prosecutor Wesley Dicus described the stabbing as so violent that the knife blade was bent. There were numerous confrontations between the two girls prior to the murder. The most damning evidence from the trial was a collection of threatening voice mail messages from Rachel to Sarah.
“Please tell me Sarah why you would be a dumb-a** c**t and put a brand new picture of you and Josh at the beach on your MySpace. Seriously, I told you to watch your f***ing back and not to f***ing chill with him. I’m guaranteeing you that I’m going to f***ing murder you, I’m letting you know that now,” Rachel Wade stated in the voice mail.
