Squatters Grenade Pig –
A man and women both in their 30′s and described to be squatters were arrested after a New York man flew into Miami for a stay in his vacation home and found them inside hiding on Tuesday night.
The police who were called in did a search of the home and found 10 grenades, guns, cocaine and marijuana inside the home. Miami police reported they believed the grenades that were found in a dresser draw in the bedroom and the drugs belonged to the two squatters.
Miami Police spokesman Sgt. Freddie Cruz said. “The grenades have been taken to a laboratory to see if in fact they are active. But that’s still under investigation.”
Police had to evacuate some residents, and closed streets around the area until the bomb squad cleared the home.
The identities of the two squatters are, Darin James Febus, 37, and Miriam Scott Bailey, 32, and they will likely be facing drug and weapon’s charges.
Apparently the man who owned the home had a pet pig that was kept in a pen in the backyard. But the pig was found to be roaming around freely, possibly released from the pen by the squatters. The pig was safely returned to its backyard pen afterwards.
Contrary to police reports the two individuals where discovered to be squatters in the New York mans vacation home, CBS of Miami reported that neighbors in the area say the people are not squatters at all, but have been living in the ‘known drug house’ for years.
