University of San Diego Student Shot Through Vehicle On Way To School Campus

University of San Diego Student Shot. A University of San Diego student was shot on her way to school Tuesday morning. She was driving to campus on California state freeway from her home in Escondido.

The student, 21, called her mother who dialed 911.

Once she arrived at the university, she told a security guard that “she felt a in her side,” and met with paramedics who discovered a gunshot wound to her rib cage.

The bullet went through the door and the driver’s seat of the student’s Toyota and struck her torso. Police believe the bullet came from another car.

The student has a “positive prognosis.” A description of the suspect vehicle was unavailable and it was unclear if the woman ever saw the shooter or the vehicle.
