Wikileaks anti-war hero posts encrypted file. Anti-War hero has posted a huge encrypted file named ‘Insurance’ on WikiLeaks. While many people believe Bradley Manning is a hero, the Pentagon isn’t amused with WikiLeaks or its anti-war tactics.

This is sparking speculation that those behind the organization may be prepared to release more classified information if authorities interfere with them. The Pentagon has demanded that the multi-jurisdictional public service designed to protect whistleblowers, cancel any plan to publish more classified military documents. In addition they want them to pull back tens of thousands of secret Afghan war logs already posted on the Internet.

The Pentagon has no independent power to enforce this. Their primary goal is to prevent the release of approximately 15,000 secret documents that the website is said to be holding. In addition, the Pentagon hopes to stop WikiLeaks from making public the contents of the encrypted file.

“We are asking them to do the right thing,” Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said in a statement. “I don’t know that we’re very confident they’ll have a change of heart.” State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley acknowledged that the government suspects that WikiLeaks is sitting on at least some of its message traffic.

Anti-war hero for some, American Army private Bradley Manning is the person accused of orchestrating the information on WikiLeaks. It has become one of the biggest unofficial leaks of confidential military data in the American history. Manning’s popularity has soared in recent months and it appears that more informaiton is coming.
