Bank Of America Online Banking Down. Bank of America’s online website for banking has been down today. Customers can still access normal services, according to a spokeswoman.

Spokeswoman Tara Burke said the slowness was a result of “routine” upgrades made over the weekend, and the slowness isn’t affecting any particular geographic area. The company is working to restore normal service “as quickly as possible,” she said, but she couldn’t provide any timeline for a resolution.

Bank of America said the bank is “experiencing intermittent service disruptions as we work to restore capability as quickly as possible.”

Customers with accounts in New York, California, New Jersey and Arizona told Dow Jones Newswires they were directed by the Bank of America website to try again later. It wasn’t immediately clear how widespread the outage was.

“We apologize for the inconvenience,” the website read.

Bank of America said it isn’t a victim of a cyberattack and none of its customers’ personal or account data have been compromised.

Even before the financial institution updated its website to reflect the interruption to online-banking services, several Bank of America customers said Tuesday they weren’t able to access the website at all.

In mid-January, the Bank of America website experienced a service slowdown, which Burke also attributed at the time to routine upgrades and said affected a “very small population” of its customers. Earlier Tuesday, Burke wouldn’t quantify what percentage of the 29 million of its customers who bank online are affected by the slowdown.

Bank of America shares were off 2.2% at $13.98 in Tuesday afternoon trading. The stock is off 16.3% over the past year and has risen nearly 24% in the past three months.
