Glenn Beck & Gold controversy isn’t much. New York Congressman Anthony Weiner is attacking Glenn Beck and his Goldline. Apparently, several new commentators on the Fox News Channel are all paid spokespeople.

“On numerous occasions, Glenn Beck has dedicated entire segments of his program to explaining why the U.S. money supply is destined for hyperinflation with Barack Obama as president. He will often promote the purchase of gold as the only safe investment alternative for consumers who want to safeguard their livelihoods. When the show cuts to commercial break, viewers are treated to an advertisement from Goldline,” Weiner said in a statement.

Weiner probably doesn’t understand that it’s not just Beck. Most Americans have been hurting for employment and all they see is government spending. Moreover, they asked the president and congress not to pass the expensive health care legislation that we can’t afford.

The New York Congressman is calling for an investigation into precious metal seller Goldline. Weiner claims that it employs conservative broadcasters to scare their viewers into buying gold through the company. He also accuses the company of selling the precious metals at inflated prices.

Goldline is priced 90 percent above melt value, according to Weiner. This means that the value of the precious metal would have to double for the consumer to break even. In addition, Weiner says that company representatives present themselves as financial advisors even though they don’t have a license.
