10-Year-Old Model Poses For Provocative Photos

Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau is a 10-year-old model. She is stirring controversy on how young is too young for a model to post for provocative pictures in Vogue magazine. The 10-year-old is featured in a controversial spread with seductive looks at the camera in a number of sexually charged poses.

One photo shows Blondeau wearing a skintight dress, laying on her stomach atop a tiger skin rug, with stiletto-clad feet kicked up behind her. Another shows her topless, although her front is covered, as she is with an older man. Critics say her pictures are too provocative.

“We don’t want kids to grow up too fast,” said Shari Miles-Cohen, senior director of women’s programs for the American Psychological Association. “We want them to be able to develop physically, emotionally, psychologically and socially at appropriate rates for their age.”

The CEO of Concerned Women for America, Penny Nance said, “This is clearly child exploitation, and her parents should be legally charged.” But others say they don’t see a problem saying she has been modeling for years. In fact, she already graced the cover of Vogue Enfants.

Obviously she is no stranger to modeling. Blondeau has been drawing comparisons to Brigitte Bardot.

Vogue has been no stranger to controversy though, In 2007, Vogue drew criticism from the anti-smoking group, “Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids”, for carrying tobacco advertisements in the magazine.

The group claims that volunteers sent the magazine more than 8,000 protest e-mails or faxes regarding the ads. The group also claimed that in response, they received scribbled notes faxed back on letters that had been addressed to editor Anna Wintour stating, “Will you stop? You’re killing trees!”
