An Amish star from TLC was arrested after allegedly yelling at state troopers during a traffic stop while drunk. Police say Jeremiah Raber was a passenger in a car that was pulled over during a traffic stop in White Township, Indiana County around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.
Breaking Amish is a television series on the TLC television network that debuted September 9, 2012. Raber, a star on the show, is one of five young adults who move to New York City to experience a different life outside of their religious communities.
According to troopers, Raber stuck his head out of the passenger window and yelled obscenities at officers. The officers then followed the car to a nearby house after the traffic stop had been completed and found Raber yelling at the driver “that drove him home from the Boomerangs Bar.”
The Amish star was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. The yelling was so loud that it woke up neighbors who almost called the police.
Breaking Amish follows the cast members as they experience life in New York and face new situations involving work, friendship, romance, and lifestyle, plus the drama that develops between cast members as they undergo various experiences.
The cast-members’ move to New York City differs from Rumspringa, the rite of passage in which some 16-year-old Amish are allowed to experience the outside world and to decide whether or not they wish to remain with their home communities.
A news report on February 25, 2013, stated that TLC had ordered a second season of Breaking Amish with the original cast. Breaking Amish: Brave New World is considered the second season by TLC.
A spinoff of Breaking Amish, entitled Breaking Amish: Los Angeles, debuted on July 21, 2013, with a different cast. A fourth season of the show is returning under the title Return to Amish to premier May 31, 2015.
The Breaking Amish star was close to getting away without any problems since the cops let the driver go until Raber decided to stick his head out the car window and start yelling at the troopers. That’s when cops then followed the car to a nearby house where the 33-year-old was arrested.
Raber was charged and later freed from jail. The Amish star that was arrested didn’t have any prior problems with the police until now.
