Best College Fraternity Movies

We have a list of the best fraternity movies of all time. These movies taught us what goes on when you’re in a college fraternity, even if it’s a Hollywood script. Some of the best actors got their start from the following college films.

1. Animal House. Quite arguably making a tie for a number one position, Animal House is a fraternity classic. This 1978 hit starring John Belushi, Kevin Bacon, Tim Matheson and John Verney is a release from anything related to intellect or manners. It’s by far one of the best fraternity movies.

2. Old School. We’re going to call this hit from 2003 one of the best college frat movies of all time. This film has Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Will Ferrell. They run away from it all by escaping into a campus house where they create their own fraternity.

3. Revenge of the Nerds. Helping the lesser-known guys on campus find their place. This was all before computer geeks knew what all the gadgets were at Best Buy. This movie starring Robert Carradine, Anthony Edwards, Timothy Busfield, and Andrew Cassese grew into a four-part series as one of the best fraternity movies in the 1980s.

4. Van Wilder. Ryan Reynolds is the big man on campus who gets tapped by a lesser-known fraternity of geeks and nerds to throw the bash of the year. This 2002 hit is a bit more rom-com than the other movies, but still sure to please with typical college antics.

5. Fraternity Vacation. Another story of nerds go Greek, this 1985 flick stars Stephen Geoffreys, Sheree J. Wilson, Cameron Dye, and Leigh McCloskey, Tim Robbins and John Verney. If trouble on campus wasn’t enough, these guys embark on a week-long trip to Palm Springs. If you have never seen it, it’s a great fraternity film and worth buying the DVD for your collection.
