Charlie Sheen’s HIV revelation is attracting world attention after he is set to address his health during an interview. On Monday, Nov. 16, NBC announced that Sheen would be making a big personal announcement to Matt Lauer on the Today show during Tuesday’s episode, according to US Magazine.

Following this news, several sites, including TMZ and RadarOnline, alleged that Sheen is HIV-positive and plans to address his health during his interview. Charlie has so far remained quiet, but he has been one of the biggest donors since 2006.

Some of the reports claim that the Two and a Half Men alum, 50, has been keeping his diagnosis a secret for years. He has not addressed the rumors on his social media accounts.

According to insiders, Charlie Sheen has HIV and “made the heartbreaking confession” to multiple individuals, and has already begun a regimen of medication meant to counteract the effects of the disease. “It’s been going on for quite a while,” Hollywood publicist Howard Bragman said. “It was very hard to get up the courage for him to talk about it.”

The father of five has made headlines in the past for his reported substance abuse problems. In October, he was headlocked by security and kicked out of Hennessey’s Tavern in Dana Point, California.

It’s been a tough couple of years for Sheen, who was fired from his hit CBS show in 2011 after previously having been the highest paid actor on television. He went on to have a public breakdown in which he gave an almost incoherent interview to ABC’s 20/20, coining his now-signature phrase “winning.”

Sheen has bragged about sleeping with more than 5000 women. But he has been keeping his HIV status secret for many years, and that his ex-wife Brooke Mueller accuses him of “potentially” infecting her with HIV. “Charlie thought he was indestructible and took no precautions — even though he was indulging in high-risk sex practices,” a close friend said.

Charlie Sheen was married to Donna Peele from 1995 to 1996, then to Denise Richards from 2002 to 2006, and finally to Brooke Mueller from 2008 until 2011. He is the father of daughter Cassandra, 30, with ex-girlfriend Paula Profit, daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, with Richards, and twins Bob and Max, 6, with Mueller.

The Enquirer learned during its investigation that at least four women have claimed Charlie Sheen exposed them to the virus, and he reportedly paid off one female sex partner in a hush-hush financial settlement. There are also several active lawsuits against Sheen over the status of his condition.
