Chelsie Hightower On Dancing With The Stars Challenge

03/20/2012 06:45 PM ET

Fans have been enthusiastic about this season’s cast, and everybody was anxious to see them take to the floor, Chelsie Hightower being one of them on Dancing with the Stars.

Roshon Fegan has already garnered substantial buzz that he’ll be one to watch given his Disney background, and fans of the show are excited to have pro Hightower back again. However, this season is going to be fiercely competitive, and it won’t be easy to take home the Mirror Ball Trophy. How did Roshon and Chelsie do in their debut?

Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower danced a cha cha this week on “Dancing With the Stars,” which you can watch in the video on the left-hand side of the page. Len said there’s no question Roshon can dance, but he wasn’t particularly wowed by this performance. Bruno said it was unbelievable and razor-sharp, while Carrie Ann said, “That’s the coolest spin I have seen in a cha cha in all 14 seasons.”

Roshon and Chelsie definitely put their own spin on the cha cha, and it seemed to work. The duo got a 7 from Len, but 8s from Carrie Ann and Bruno. Their total score of 23 put them right in the middle of the pack, which isn’t a bad place to be in Week 1.

Luckily nobody heads home this week, however. Everybody returns for Week 2, and the scores and votes from both weeks will be combined with the lowest couple heading home next Tuesday. Roshon and Chelsie already have a solid team of supporters, including pop icon Britney Spears.

After the show she tweeted, “Just went to Dancing with the Stars to support Jason’s friend Roshon Fegan. He is so cute! And wow can that boy dance!”

Will the viewers at home agree and vote to keep him in the competition? Tune in next Monday and Tuesday night to ABC to see how Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower do on “Dancing With the Stars.”
