Columbus Short - The former “Scandal” actor was arrested in Texas for public intoxication. A worker says the bar employs off-duty police officers, and Short, “got into an issue” with them.

Columbus Short was arrested and booked after allegedly fighting with security at a local bar, according to an employee.

Dallas police said the 31-year-old former actor was arrested at 2 a.m. Saturday at the Katy Trail Ice House, according to azcentral.com. The restaurant is a popular beer garden for locals. Short’s agent, manager and lawyer did not immediately respond to messages Saturday.

“He was uncooperative with police,” the employee says. “It was a minor issue. He was verbally assaulting the police.”

Police spokesman Warren Mitchell had no information immediately on whether Columbus was released from custody. The actor’s publicist declined comment Saturday evening. Short may have been involved in a bar fight with a guard after a long night of Fourth of July celebration, according to witnesses. Short also tried to scuffle with police officers before getting taken to jail.

In April, Columbus’ wife, Tanee, accused him of threatening to kill her and himself with a knife. Tanee filed for both a restraining order, to keep him from her and their 2-year-old daughter, and for a divorce to end their nine-year marriage. Soon after, Short announced he would not be returning to the hit ABC series “Scandal.”

This is the second time Columbus Short has been in trouble with the law. In march, he was accused of punishing and knocking out a patron at a West Los Angeles restaurant. He later pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of battery in that case. The victim is suing Short for $1 million and filed papers in L.A. on Monday alleging he was knocked unconscious by the punch.
