Wonder Years actress Danica McKellar and husband Mike Verta welcomed their first child, Draco Verta, into the world. She gave birth to a baby boy.
The “Wonder Years” star gave birth to a 7 lbs., 2oz. baby last Tuesday night. In March of 2009, the couple was married and a year later she announced her pregnancy. “We are humbled, overjoyed and so grateful for this miraculous gift. It’s like we’ve only now just learned the true meaning of love,” the couple stated.
According to sources, the name Draco was not inspired by the Harry Potter books and films. His moniker, which means dragon, was taken from the constellation of the same name. Draco is a circumpolar constellation visible all night from northern latitudes.
Draco’s stars are not very bright, containing only three stars above magnitude 3.0. At one time, Draco was quite a bit larger when the ancient Mesopotamians gave the dragon large wings which wound around Ursa Major. The Greek philosopher Thales lopped off the wings in the sixth century BC.
