Dennis Quaid’s meltdown has been captured on camera while on the set of an unspecified film project, but some of his fans believe that it might be a hoax. A video of the actor in the expletive-laden tirade, seemingly captured on a crew member’s phone, he takes someone to task for walking onto set and interrupting his line, according to The Inquisitr. This happens before an off-camera speaker tries to calm him down.
“Don’t f-ing ‘Dennis’ me, I am doing my job here, I’m a pro! This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on,” Quaid retorts, hurling a few more insults before apparently storming off set.
Perhaps not coincidentally, Crackle announced the pickup of Quaid’s new drama series “The Art of More” at the Internet-streaming service’s upfront presentation on Tuesday morning. The 10-episode series, also produced by Quaid, centers around the cutthroat world of premium auction houses.
One person, who wished to remain anonymous, said the set shut down for the day following Dennis Quaid’s meltdown.
“Dennis Quaid was exhausted, which showed during the meltdown,” a crew member, who wished to remain anonymous, said. The set was also closed for the remainder of the day following the rant. If the video isn’t a hoax, then the actor is defiantly tired.
But was this breakdown legitimate or is it just a gag for something viewers will see at another time? Some people believe that this stunt is just a bit for Jimmy Kimmel Live!. One Reddit commenter even said he works for Jimmy Kimmel’s show and can “confirm” that this is just a prank, although we can’t confirm that the commenter actually works for the show, according to Softpedia News.
A few other people believe that Dennis Quaid’s meltdown could be a spoof on Christian Bale’s infamous rant while filming Terminator Salvation. He had gone on a verbal tirade against the director of photography, claiming he kept wandering into his eye line.
“For f-k’s sake man, you amateur,” Bale screamed at the time. “This is the second time he doesn’t give a f-k about what is going on in front of the camera. I’m trying to do a f-king scene here.”
Four days later Bale admitted he had “acted like a punk” during his rant and apologized. He called into radio station KROQ with an extensive mea culpa. “I was out of order beyond belief,” he said. “I acted like a punk. There is nobody who heard the tape who is hit harder than me. I make no excuses for it. It is inexcusable.”
Dennis Quaid’s meltdown is out of character for the actor, as he continued to scream on video until he stormed off set, where instead of saying goodbye, he said, “Blow me,” notes Daily Mail. Watch the video for yourself and decide if it’s just a prank for an upcoming comedy show.
