Dolly Parton is planning to renew her vows with husband Carl Dean to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Parton describes it as another big wedding day for her huge milestone, one that she’s ready to do all over again.

The country and western singing legend tied the knot with Carl, now 71, on May 30, 1966, at Ringgold, Ga., partly because he lived nearby in his youth and knew the town.

“I also liked the idea of ‘rings of gold’ — Ringgold. I thought that sounded like a good sign,” Dolly told the local Times Free Press in June after the town erected a plaque commemorating the event outside the church.

She looked beautiful in a simple white frock, fashionably cut to her knees, with a frothy veil. While hunky Carl, who towered over his 5ft 3in bride, wore a dark suit with the then new skinny-leg trousers. This time around the big day will “probably be at our big old plantation home. We love it there.” Dolly shared with Closer, adding its “where we have family and friends.”

It also means that her reclusive husband won’t have to leave their mansion near Nashville, Tennessee, where they first met.

The couple have rarely been photographed together in their 50-year relationship and the blonde bombshell has often joked her husband hates the spotlight just as much as she loves it.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the Nine To Five star will headline the five-day Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England, next summer.

The star will play the coveted Legends slot on the closing evening, June 29. As usual, her beau won’t be joining her for the trip.

“Carl doesn’t like to fly,” she said. “Once many, many years ago, he went with me to Hawaii, and he enjoyed that, but he never wanted to go anywhere else.” She says he’s happy staying home.
