Freddie Mercury death, 19 years later. The death of Queen's lead singer Freddie Mercury seems like yesterday. It was 19 years ago when fans were shocked to learn that he had died.

Mercury, the lead singer of the British rock band, Queen was very talented. He was, and still is, loved and admired as a rock star all over the world. In 1991, he died at his home in Kensington, London, at the age of 45.

He was suffering from bronchopneumonia resulting from AIDS. The flamboyant Freddie Mercury, whose real name was Farrokh Bulsara, made his recognition in the music industry with his amazing theatrical-style and admirable four octave vocal range.

With his band mates, Freddie Mercury changed the style and definition of the musical landscape around the world. His fans continue to remember the star to this day for his rock star image and stunning command on the stage with a great connection with audience.

Along with collaboration with Queens, Freddie Mercury also released a couple of solo albums and even worked on three Michael Jackson songs, none of which has officially been released until now.
