Goldie wants Kurt to shave his Hateful Eight hair, a choice he made when he took on a new movie role. While Kurt Russell is no stranger no rocking some pretty impressive mustaches over the years, he stepped it up a notch in the new Quentin Tarantino Western and Goldie Hawn hates it, according to Entertainment Tonight Online.
The Hateful Eight is a new movie in production that promises to bring back an original Western, but that also meant that Kurt had to grow facial hair. Goldie has been living with it, and she calls it an “absolute mess.” She can’t wait until production on the project is over.
The actor has been off your radar for the past year or so, and during that time he decided to experiment a little with his spectacular facial fashions he’s been cultivating. Since signing on to Quentin Tarantino’s new revenge-fueled Western, he has bumped his usual low-key scruff up to epic proportions.
Goldie Hawn had to deal with Kurt Russell and his Hateful Eight hair as it took time to not only grow his hair down his shoulders, but to transform his bushy mustache into a classic handlebar. It’s a horseshoe style that renders him a perfect hybrid of Jeff Bridges in True Grit and Deadwood’s Al Swearengen.
But even though Kurt Russell’s overblown handlebar has been wooing audiences nationwide, Goldie Hawn isn’t quite so enchanted with his voluptuous choice in facial hair. She claims that the hair and mustache, which wasn’t just an aesthetic choice but “a lifestyle,” really put a damper on their love life, joking that due to those overgrown follicles.
“It was like, ‘Where are those lips?’ I didn’t see them for a year and a half,” Goldie Hawn said.
Goldie Hawn is the mother of actors Oliver Hudson, Kate Hudson, and Wyatt Russell. She has been in a relationship with actor Kurt Russell since 1983. Although Goldie and Kurt have never been married, they have been longtime companions and have been in numerous films together.
But not all celebrity wives hate mustaches on their husbands take on to get into character. For example, Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard in Pan may look like a poor man’s Tim Curry mixed with Johnny Weir, but his wife Debora-Lee Furness is apparently in love with the look.
“She likes a bad boy. She actually said Blackbeard, that kind of attitude, that works for her,” Jackman said.
Others, like Megan Mullally aren’t given much of a choice when it comes to their significant other’s upper-lip decorations. After all, when you’re married to the man who plays Ron Swanson, the signature facial hair is pretty much non-negotiable.
Goldie Hawn wants Kurt Russell to shave the Hateful Eight hair as soon as possible, but he’s trying to change her mind. Kurt wants to play more roles with the look, but Goldie isn’t changing her mind anytime soon.
