Angelina Jolie is working very heavy with Brad Pitt as the two raised eyebrows when it was revealed they were working together on a new movie. The project is called By the Sea seems to be getting off to a great start, according to US Magazine
Jolie, 40, shot the marital drama with Brad in Malta on their honeymoon after deciding to not only star in it but also direct the movie. Angelina admits that it wasn’t an accident that because it is a film that she cares very much about as well as the issue that matter to her.
“If you’re going to spend two years of your life on something it has to matter to you, you have to be passionate about it,” she said.
Jolie’s very heavy comment comes after the couple tacked the roles, with the characters being an unhappy couple on holiday in France. Describing how it made for awkward moments on set because of the depths the characters went to, she said: “I’d be directing myself and him in a scene where we’re having a fight, and I’d be pulling out the parts [of him] that have an aggression toward me or when you’re frustrated with each other — it was very heavy.”
“We kept joking that all of the crew felt like they were living in a house where the parents were fighting and you don’t know where to stand or where to look,” Jolie said.
It’s been 10 years since the release of the couple’s movie, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and the storyline is far from where the action spy movie. Even so, the film feels right for Angelina.
Last month, 51-year-old Brad showed off his new family tattoo. Pitt revealed his latest inking in his large collection of tattoos, on his right forearm.
Unlike Jolie, the Hollywood actor already has tattoos on his back, arms, calf and stomach yet this is thought to be his first family-inspired piece of artwork. His latest body art addition features a cross adorned with the letters A for Angelina, M for Maddox, P for Pax and Z for Zahara.
The couple’s children are Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, 9 and twins Vivienne and Knox, 7.
Jolie stars with Pitt in the upcoming film By the Sea, and the newly released trailer for the movie reveals very little. Angelina is on the bed while Brad is in a bathtub.
Viewers get a real sense of the turmoil in their on-screen relationship.
“Do you want to hurt me?” Pitt asks a blonde-haired Jolie.
Given juxtaposition created by the lyrics of the folksy track to which the trailer is set-Perfect Day by Harry Nilsson-and the pill-popping and abuse among the two characters, it’s safe to say the film isn’t a tale of marital bliss.
Jolie’s very heavy film is set to be released on Nov. 13.
