Jon Stewart Rally to Restore Sanity is getitng off the ground. The Comedy Central host is ready for D.C.
Jon Stewart is getting ready to host his “Rally to Restore Sanity” after announcing it on “The Daily Show.” Stewart will also compete with Stephen Colbert who launched his own event called “March to Keep Fear Alive” planned for the National Mall in Washington D.C.
These rallies are both parodies of Glenn Beck’s Conservative Restoring Honor event that took place last month. It sounds a bit bunch, but maybe it was due to the hundreds of thousands of people who attended Beck’s rally. It got national attention, and most of the media said there were “more than 1,000” people at the event.
Stewart announced on “The Daily Show” his plan. “We will gather on the National Mall in Washington D.C. — A million moderate march where we take to the streets to send a message to our leaders and our national media that says we are here.” At the same time, Colbert revealed that he has his own plans to shake Washington up.
