Kit Harington’s Speeding Ticket Dismissed By Fan

Kit Harington’s speeding ticket was dismissed after the actor answered a question from a cop. The actor revealed that he was driving home from his parent’s house one night and was pulled over for “being a big naughty and going over the speed limit.” The officer, apparently a fan of the show, presented Harington with two options: follow him to the police station to be booked or tell him whether Jon Snow is still alive.

For Harington, keeping the fate of Jon Snow in season 6 of Game of Thrones under wraps wasn’t too hard, the Daily Mail reports. While the rest of the world spent a year wondering whether the character would rise from his grisly fate at the end of the show’s last season, Kit has said he shared the news of his resurrection with only his parents, his girlfriend, Rose Leslie, and the police officer to get out of a speeding ticket.

As Kit Harington’s speeding ticket was dismissed, he said he laughed at first, but that the officer very serious. “I have to tell you, whether I take you into the police station depends on what your answer is.” Of course, Harington had no choice but to answer, “I’m alive next season.”

To this, the officer reportedly said, “On your way Lord Commander. Keep the speed down this far south of the Wall.” The actor, who plays Jon Snow on the HBO series, and Leslie, who played his character’s love interest Ygritte, have been dating on and off since 2012, the New York Daily News reported.

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie had rekindled their romance. The two, who are notoriously private, officially stepped out as a couple at the 2016 Olivier Awards at the Royal Opera House in London in April, where Kit showed a lot of PDA on the red carpet.

In a recent interview with Vogue Italia, Harington reminisced about how the two fell in love while filming Game of Thrones. Kit called his time shooting season two in Iceland his favorite show memory.

“Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” he said, adding, “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it’s becomes very easy to fall in love.”

TheWrap said season six of Game of Thrones was perhaps its biggest bombshell yet when Snow, who was shockingly murdered at the end of season 5 came back to life in the season’s second episode. While Kit Harington’s speeding ticket was dismissed, he opened up about the hard-to-keep secret and even offered an apology for the months he kept his lips sealed.
