“We feel blessed and excited to welcome our little one to the world this November! #babymoon,” she captioned the picture. The couple, who spent the weekend in Big Sur, California, posed in front of a sunset for the announcement picture.
Lauren Bush pregnant’s snapshot, which was shared with her 53,000 followers, earned nearly 2,000 likes since it was posted, with many friends of the couple sending their congratulations with heartfelt comments.
“Congratulations you two!” supermodel Christy Turlington Burns, wrote, while designer Rachel Roy left a series of emojis, including clapping hands and hearts. “So happy for you both!” socialite Amanda Hearst added.
David, who shared the same photo and message on his personal Instagram account, received similar amounts of love and praise from friends, family, and fans who were thrilled about the couple’s foray into parenthood.
Lauren and David, who live in a vast $28 million townhouse formally owned by Annie Leibovitz in New York City, appear to be enjoying their time on the West Coast. Earlier in the day, the FEED projects co-founder shared a photo of David holding a guitar case while standing in front of the scenic view.
“Love traveling with this music man @davidlauren,” she wrote. Lauren launched FEED, which is dedicated to fighting world hunger and feeding children on behalf of the UN World Food Programme, in 2007, and the philanthropist recently revealed to Elle that David, who is Ralph Lauren’s global advertising and marketing division, has been a fantastic resource over the past eight years.
“He’s been so helpful to give me guidance and exposure to people he’s worked with who are experts in their specific parts of the business,” she said. “And he’s such a creative mind, so it’s always fun to have marketing and communication brainstorms with him. He’s full of great ideas.”
The couple wed in September 2011 at the 17,000-acre Double RL ranch in Ridgway, Colorado, and Lauren, who was walked down the aisle by her father Neil Bush, rode to the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage.
In an interview with Vogue, David described the event like “a beautiful movie… like you were riding across the old west and you stopped in at a wedding.”
Lauren wore a long-sleeved embellished dress with tulle, lace and crystals that was designed by her father-in-law, and the look was completed with a headpiece around her forehead and a long veil.
“It was like a dream come true,” she said of Ralph designing her wedding gown. “We sat together and arrived at this silhouette. It isn’t Victorian exactly. I wanted something modern as well, so there is the high-necked collar and puffed shoulders with the large open back.”
Lauren Bush’s pregnant news also means the baby will be born into political and designer royalty. The soon-to-be first-time mom’s uncle Jeb is currently running for President of the United States.
