Mariah Carey tweets a 1997 photo as if it were taken in 2014, and had everything to do with her twins, which many people thought was odd. The problem is, Carey didn’t have the children until about three years ago.

Buzzfeed reveals she may have taken things a bit too far with a recent tweet. The singer is known for having a relationship with Photoshop, but this was the real deal. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Throwback Thursday.

Carey posted a photo of herself with the caption: “quality time with #dembabies… so much happiness.” There’s only one problem. The photo appeared on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1997, and #dembabies are only 3 years old.

Since Carey’s twins didn’t actually appear in the photo with her, she followed the post with a series of photos of her kids watching TV, mugging for the camera, and enjoying bath time.

After some scrutiny, fans realized that the photo was not, in fact, taken while the pop star was spending quality time with her children. The singer has not spoken on the matter. Instead, Carey spent the rest of her weekend celebrating Father’s Day with her husband Nick Cannon and their twins.

Carey and Cannon both shared photos of their family of four celebrating the holiday to Instagram, and Carey even appears to be going makeup-free in the shot.

Carey’s camp has yet to comment n the post. The 44-year-old singer is currently promoting her new album, Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse.
