Gisbon, 54, was cruising southbound on Malibu hillside when the accident occured. According to Alan Nierob, the Academy Award winner's spokesperson, he is doing fine. The actor was driving alone in his car.
The California Highway Patrol stated they did not suspect Gibson of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the crash occurred. However, the police reportedly asked Gibson if he had been talking on a mobile phone at the time of the accident, and the actor said he hadn't. Gibson was released at the scene of the accident when a friend came to pick him up.
The CHP did not release any further details, and it was unclear how much damage Gibson's car sustained. It was towed from the scene. The Maserati Quattroporte, cost around $125,000. It is a large, fast four-door sedan. Photos that have surfaced show damage to the right front fender and front wheel.
