Melissa Gilbert Returns For A More Gentle Rehearsal

04/13/2012 04:43 PM ET

After taking a knock to the head by apparently hitting the floor during this past Monday’s performance on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ actress Melissa Gilbert returned Wednesday for a “gentle rehearsal” with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, for next weeks round of dancing competition.

Gilbert didn’t seem to be affected by hitting her head on the floor during the performance this week, and while standing by for the judges scores didn’t mention anything about it. However, at the conclusion of the night host Tom Bergeron had announced she had been rushed to the hospital after feeling dizziness back stage.

As it turns out the now 47-year-old ‘Little House on the Praire’ actress suffered a concussion and mild whiplash.

Via Twitter on Wednesday Gilbert announced, “Going to attempt a gentle rehearsal in a bit.”

After the rehearsal, Gilbert tweeted again that she was very happy to be back to work with Chmerkovskiy. Next she tweeted “Now back home to bed.”

After the incident, it was questioned whether or not Gilbert could continue in the competition, but Chmerkovskiy told People.com, “I think we are coming back.”

Chmerkovskiy added, “I’m pretty sure. It’s not up to me, it’s up to her, [but] I haven’t heard talks of not coming back. Although, if she wakes up tomorrow and continues to have a headache, I won’t let her in the studio.”
