NY School Bieber Shirts – Banned? A NY school has banned Justin Bieber shirts after four teenage girls were ordered not to wear them. Security at the Roosevelt High School in Yonkers told the teens that they were “gang-related”.

According to the girls, they attended a premiere for Justin Bieber’s movie on Tuesday. Then the following day, they wore their homemade t-shirts to school. The shirt’s read “Bieber Krew”.

The principal then called a meeting with the girls, their parents and the security guards. One of the parents says the principal told them the t-shirts were “inappropriate for school because they were gang-related” and the girls would be suspended if they wore them again. One noted, “It’s ridiculous. They’re good kids who love Justin Bieber.”

“Students at Roosevelt High School were not banned from wearing shirts displaying the image of Justin Bieber, nor were they accused of being in a gang,” a rep for the school commented.

The Theodore Roosevelt High School is a public high school for grades 9-12. It is operated by Yonkers Public Schools, located on the corner of Tuckahoe Road and Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, New York. It will gradually be replaced by Early College High School by 2013.
