Paul McCartney SNL appearance included three songs. Paul McCartney hosted SNL last weekend with plenty of classic songs. It was only three days after the thirtieth anniversary of John Lennon's death.
There was a skit between Seth Meyers and Paul McCartney in which they did the voices of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles during the student tuition riots. In addition, McCartney performed in a musical called "Stumblin." He danced side by side Rudd, playing Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" with a miniature harmonica.
Of course the 68-year-old legend also performed several classics. They included "Jet", "Band on the Run," and "Give Peace a Chance" paying tribute to fellow former Beatle, John Lennon. On December 8 1980, Lennon was murdered by Mark David Chapman as he returned to his New York apartment. Earlier that evening, Lennon had autographed a copy of Double Fantasy for Chapman.
Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono, issued a statement the next day, saying "There is no funeral for John," ending it with the words, "John loved and prayed for the human race. Please pray the same for him." Chapman pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced to 20 years to life. He is currently still in prison, having been repeatedly denied parole.
