Court papers reveal that there is a Peter Frampton divorce underway. The paperwork was filed Tuesday requesting a divorce from wife Tina Elfers. Frampton sited irreconcilable differences for the reason the couple wanted to split. The couple had married in 1996.
The guitar hero and wife No. 3 split up on New Year’s Eve, according to People. They have one 15 year old daughter together. The Peter Frampton divorce paperwork shows that he is requesting visitation rights with full custody going to Elfers.
“What won me over is his tenderness, his romantic side,” Elfers told the mag in 2000.
Frampton’ first 2 marriages where to, to Mary Lovett, he divorced in 1973 and split from Barbara Gold in 1993. Frampton is embarking on a 35th-anniversary tour, ending in Paris in November, of his mega-selling double album “Frampton Comes Alive!” The album sold over 6 million copies in the United States alone and spawned several hits.
Frampton is best known for such hits as “Show Me the Way”, “Baby, I Love Your Way”, “Do You Feel Like We Do”, and “I’m in You”, which to this day, remain staples on classic-rock radio. He has also appeared as himself in television shows such as The Simpsons and Family Guy. He was previously associated with the bands Humble Pie and The Herd. He has also worked with David Bowie and both Matt Cameron and Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, among others.
