Piers Morgan Petition Asks To Deport TV Host

Over 31,800 American have signed a petition to have British television host Piers Morgan deported from the United States, due to his views on gun control.

Since the elementary school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut the journalist has been taking a stand for tighter gun laws.

Last week, during the “Piers Morgan Tonight” show the host called a gun advocate appearing on his show an “unbelievably stupid man.”

That was enough for gun rights activists to begin fighting back. On Dec. 21, an internet user in Texas went on to the White House e-petition website and accused Morgan of engaging in a “hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution” by targeting the Second Amendment. It demands he be deported immediately for “exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.”

The petition already received 25,000 signature, which is enough to get a White House response. By Monday, Dec 24, the petition had 34,591 signatures.

Morgan responded on twitter in reference to the petition.

“If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?” he wrote.
