Portia de Rossi - The Arrested Development star allegedly entered rehab in May for a 30-day treatment program. Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres have been in the headlines lately over rumors of infidelity and alcohol abuse.

Portia de Rossi hasn’t said much about the rumors. However, an admission counselor at the rehab facility told Page Six that the primary issue had to be a substance abuse because that’s what they’re licensed as.

The star’s marriage with Ellen is on shaky grounds. “Allegedly, Portia’s home life had become unbearable because Ellen is the dominant partner in the relationship who prevents Portia from living a fulfilled life, pursuing her dreams — and having a child,” according to the Examiner. “Pill popping seems to be a new thing for Portia and her need to escape her own reality reached new heights when Ellen refused to have a child with her,” the site added. Ellen remains quiet about Rossi and about the alleged substance abuse problem.

Portia isn’t the only one to attend the same facility. Mel Gibson, David Hasselhoff and Natasha Lyonne, are among some of the names who have also checked in the past. Rossi sought treatment in 2000 for an eating disorder after her weight reportedly dropped to 82 pounds.

Passages Malibu rehab center is a non 12-step, holistic treatment facility located in the serene, private hills of Malibu, California. The rehab facility was founded in 2001 by father and son team Chris & Pax Prentiss. Pax successfully overcame a 10-year addiction to alcohol, cocaine, and heroin using a program consisting of holistic, one-on-one therapy. This highly effective therapy is now the backbone of the Passages rehab program and its founding philosophy.

The 41-year-old star wouldn’t be the first to surprise Hollywood with a substance abuse problem. Gibson reportedly learned that he is manic depressive after going to the facility. There isn’t anything that Rossi should be ashamed about, although she might not want the public knowing every aspect of her private life, which is totally understandable. But if Rossi and DeGeneres are having martial problems, that will come out sooner or later. Hopefully, the couple can get through this tough time in their lives.

Portia de Rossi is known for her roles as lawyer Nelle Porter on the television series Ally McBeal and Lindsay Funke on the sitcom Arrested Development. She also portrayed Veronica Palmer on the ABC sitcom Better Off Ted and Olivia Lord on Nip/Tuck. Portia was born Amanda Lee Rogers in Horsham, Victoria, Australia.
