Rikki Rockett has filed for divorce to end his marriage, and has requested they stick to the spousal support payments outlined in their prenuptial agreement. The Poison drummer has been married to wife Melanie Martel for 7 years, according to Daily Mail.
Rockett, 53, filed the paperwork to end his marriage last week. Rikki is also seeking joint custody of their six-year-old son Jude and two-year-old daughter Lucy.
“There’s been a lot of cheating allegations on both sides,” an insider said. “They are ending their marriage peacefully and with the least impact for their children.”
Rikki Rockett’s divorce comes after the pair were marriage in 2008, and they had their first child, Jude Aaron, on July 14, 2009. The couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lucy Sky, March 2, 2013.
The rocket currently holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, under trainer Renato Magno and trains at Street Sports Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, located in Santa Monica, California. He is also a vegan.
Rockett is also an avid rocket flyer. As a kid, Rikki bought and flew various Estes model rocket kits.
He then moved up to High Power Rocketry where he has flown and built several rockets. One of his rockets, the Jurassic Kick, is a rocket he built using kick drum shells.
Rockett once said it took three months to build, and it was flown on a Kosdon O motor. The Rikki flew the rocket twice on an O motor, but the first flight only reached 5,000 feet because of a motor malfunction, where the motor had chuffed at about 20 feet off the ground.
The second flight was a success and was the largest amateur rocket to fly using a single motor. His rocket flight, plus a small biography of the rocket’s build, are included in a rocketry magazine and video from Rocket man high thrust videos, Called Big Bad Rockets.
Rikki was arrested in 2008 on a rape warrant out of Mississippi after his flight from New Zealand landed at LAX. Rockett was visiting the Silver Star Casino, located on the Choctaw reservation in Mississippi, where the alleged crime took place.
The Silver Star Casino is owned by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians which is Choctaw and Federal jurisdiction. The Poison drummer was exonerated of all charges after it was determined that he was not even in the state of Mississippi during the time of the alleged crime.
Rikki Rockett’s divorce is a sad, but it appears as if the two will stick to the prenup agreement, which was signed before they got married.
