Roseanne Barr Show To Air On NBC Primetime TV Schedule

Roseanne Barr, formerly known as “the domestic goddess,” may be returning to primetime with a new show on NBC. The comedian is working on the project with producer Steven Greener, who worked with on her Lifetime reality series in 2011.

The show marks Barr’s second attempt at an NBC series. The network last year passed on her show “Downwardly Mobile,” which she had developed and featured her as the proprietor of a mobile home park. The comedy would have reunited her with “Roseanne” costar John Goodman.

She will also appear in an upcoming three-episode arc on “The Office,” playing a talent agent who tries to help Ed Helms’ Andy Bernard realize his showbiz dreams.

“Roseanne” ran from 1988 to 1997 and helped define an era with its depiction of a working-class family struggling with the woes of harsh economic times. It was a consistent ratings winner.

Her post-Roseanne TV projects, including several reality and talk shows, have not been as successful. She was recently honored at a Comedy Central roast that was taped for a prime-time special.
