Steven Bauer, Scarface Actor, Arrested For Driving Illegally In Miami

Steven Bauer was arrested on Tuesday morning in the Miami area for driving without a legal license. The 56-year-old Cuban-American actor, whose real name is Esteban Ernesto Echevarría Samson, is known for his role as Manny Ribera in the 1983 film Scarface.

Bauer was booked into the Miami-Dade county jail after he was pulled over, and it was discovered he was driving on a suspended licence.

His arrest report shows Bauer was stopped in Sweetwater for an improper left turn late Monday night. He was given a warning, but the officer ran his driver’s license and found an open 12-year-old warrant.

A check of the Miami-Dade County Jail website on Thursday showed he was no longer in custody.

Bauer has been married and divorced three times, most famously to actress Melanie Griffith in 1982. The couple had a son, Alexander Bauer, on August 22, 1985, before divorcing in 1987.

Most recently, In 2011, Bauer appeared on the AMC show “Breaking Bad” playing Mexican drug lord Don Eladio. He was also the voice actor for the character of “The Sandman” in the 2006 video game, “Scarface: The World is Yours,” and in 2012 video game “Hitman: Absolution,” as “Birdie.”

Bauer’s arrest comes just months after Scarface co-star, Angel Salazar, was arrested in Brooklyn NY on suspicion of driving under the influence.
