Teresa Giudice is lying to her daughters about why she’s going to prison. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has reportedly told her daughters that it’s for work reasons, according to the Spreadit. Giudice is set to begin serving a 15-month sentence at a federal prison in Danbury, Conn., on Monday.
“She told them she is going to jail to work on a book about jail,” an unidentified source told Radar Online.”
While Teresa and the public know she’s getting locked up for fraud, the tough-talking Reality TV star reportedly told her two youngest daughters she is going away for research. Teresa’s eldest daughters Gia, 13, and Gabriella, 10, “do know where Teresa is going,” but the younger girls — Milania, 8, and Audriana, 4 — are in the dark.
“Teresa and (husband) Joe feel that they are too young to fully comprehend what is going on,” the source said.
As Teresa Giudice is lying to her family, she did not respond to requests for comment sent to her company and a rep on Friday. Teresa and Joe pleaded guilty in March to hiding assets from bankruptcy court and submitting falsified loan applications to obtain some $5 million in mortgages and construction loans, according to the Examiner. The judge sentenced the couple in October but let Giudice wait until January to begin serving so she could spend the holidays with her daughters.
When Giudice gets out, her hubby is set to begin his longer 41-month prison term, followed by possible deportation to Italy. Giudice, who also has written three bestselling cookbooks and appeared on Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” sobbed during her sentencing.
“I’m not gonna deny it, I’m so scared. I’m really scared,” she said. “I’m a good woman of faith and heritage.”
Teresa Giudice then put on a brave face in a subsequent interview with Bravo’s Andy Cohen, telling him that she’ll be find and will “just slick back my hair and go about my day.” The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” wrapped its sixth season in November, and its future appears to be in limbo.
A source close to production recently said that Bravo plans to shelve the hit show until the future Jersey jailbird gets released on probation.
While Teresa Giudice is lying to her daughters, it’s only a matter of time before they know the truth. Teresa’s troubles are all over the television and a topic of conversation with friends who know the daughters, notes the Daily Mail. Someone is sure to spill the truth to them.
