After becoming famous for being a 9 foot blue alien in Avatar and starring in the Star Trek remake, Zoe Saldana reveals she may not be where she is today if she got what she wanted, and that was to have kids at a younger age.

The now 33-year-old Zoe had become engaged to actor Kieth Britton in 2010 after being in relationship with him since she was 22.

However, the couple decided to break off their relationship in 2011 before marrying.

The actress, who appeared on Lifetime’s “The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet” last Thursday, said that she wanted kids right away with Britton.

“I’m Latin — we start young, honey!” she said. “At 22 you’re like, ‘I just wanna hold something!’ You want a little critter.”

She added, “For years [Britton] wasn’t ready [for kids]. Then when he got ready, I didn’t have time. I never held anything off because I was waiting for something to kick in. I don’t think that far about tomorrow. I felt the urge to want to have a baby, and I wanted to, but I remember that respecting his decision, and making the decision to wait with him, was one of the most mature things.”

“I chose to wait, and I’m glad I did. I’m glad that I respected him,” she explained.

Saldana says that she likes to keep her private life private and did not give details as to why her and Britton decided to call off their relationship after so long, other then saying it was mutual.

After Britton, Zoe dated actor Bradley Cooper for a few months before ending it as well. Either way Saldana says she still has hopes of having children. When asked how many does she want, she replied, “Two or three … or four or five! I don’t care. They’re just so delicious.”
