Here’s a list of celebrities who love to read books and many of them have told us their favorite author and paperback as we honor the 2011 National Read a Book Day.

Ben Affleck loves his collection of books. He recently received the “Chairman’s Award” from the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Affleck is as comfortable directing award-winning films as he is talking about the Middle East and reading one of his favorite novels.

When “Knocked Up” producer and director Judd Apatow dropped out of college, he read books, and is self-educated. His favorite is “A Death in the Family” by James Agee. He is currently filming “This Is Forty” starring Megan Fox.

As the Most Senior Correspondent of “The Daily Show,” Samantha Bee spends lots of time traveling to and from interviews. Bee says she loves to tackle books that deal with issues of aging and human relationships. Her favorite is “The Year of Magical Thinking.”

Professor Harold Bloom of Yale has strong views on books. When asked about his favorite, he says he picked the one, in which “I found myself more truly and more strange.” With that being said, he enjoys “Henry IV, Part 1.”

Former President Bill Clinton loves to churn through popular thrillers and mysteries. However, his favorite paperback is called “I Know Why The Caged Gird Sings” by Maya Angelou. He might not be on our primary list of celebrities, but he sure knows his books.
