Top Superfoods - Wouldn’t it be great to have a pill to provide you with good healthy weight-loss? Well that’s not possible, but the Top Superfoods can help. Eating the right foods, or superfoods in this case, can help you meet all your nutritious needs while still have low calorie and healthy meals.

According to US Government’s Dietary Guidelines Americans need to eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products. “What is ultimately the most important to good health is a dietary pattern that includes all these foods, along with a wide variety of other nutritious foods and regular physical activity,” says Tufts University researcher Alice Lichtenstein, DSc. This can be achieved through many foods, not just a strict group of them.

One very important superfood is low-fat/ fat-free plain yogurt. Yogurt is high in calcium and also contain protein and potassium. You could make yogurt even better by adding your own fresh berries to increase your sweetness while still controlling calories.

Another important superfood that you should include in your diet are nuts. While nuts do have a high fat content they provide fiber, protein, and antioxidant. In addition the fat that is in the nuts is heart-healthy fats, the good fat that everyone needs. One thing to remember with these is portion control.”All nuts are healthful in small doses, and studies show they can help lower cholesterol levels and promote weight loss,” says Today Show nutritionist Joy Bauer, MS, RD.

Lastly another choice of diet could be eat raw superfoods only, such as berries or raw cacao. While this seems extreme eating only raw foods that have been unaffected by storage, heating or other denatured processes can help increase the overall nutrient intake.
