A waiter leaves the N word on a check at the Shatila Lebanese Grill in Arlington, Texas. It all started when six black friends went to dinner when the waiter wrote the word on the check, as Examiner reports this on Jan. 3. One member of the group said that he really hated being labeled.
“This is what they identified us as, and not the three girls and three guys.”
The friends say that the waiter did so after they asked for separate checks. The group claims that they tried to pull the server to the side to “ask him politely about the receipt.” When they did, the waiter attempted to downplay the situation saying that he “didn’t mean anything by it.” Mike Salame, the owner of the restaurant, was quick to apologize noting that he was incredibly embarrassed.
“It’s very very improper. There is no exceptions at all. That’s why when I found out, on the spot, I terminated him…on the spot.” As for the apathetic waiter, who was only identified as Ragheed, all he had to say about the situation was simply “my bad.”
The waiter who used the N-word on the check at the Shatila Lebanese Grill has been fired. Salame also notes that he reached out to the group of friends to profusely apologize, according to The Inquisitr. The waiter, who has only worked there for a week, had two complaints lodged against him, so Salame fired the waiter.
Sadly, this sort of move appears to occur in restaurants frequently. Just a couple of weeks ago, a sports bar in Pennsylvania wrote “nigga” on a customer’s check but claimed that it was meant to be a joke. The customer was not amused.
As previously reported by NewsOXY, Warren Sapp was upset when his table was referred to as “boys” by the waitress. Sapp stiffed the waitress and wrote “Boys Don’t Tip” on the check. But nobody other than the people involve know what happened.
The waiter who used the N-word on the check at the Shatila Lebanese Grill has obvious hate. It’s a shame that there are people still around who use this word freely, as if it’s nothing more than a curse word, notes National Ledger. Unfortunately, it labels a race with hate, and it totally unacceptable.
