A captain of a ferry in Finland is stuck in the toilet as his ship runs a ground. Several dozen passengers became stranded when the boat got stuck because the captain was stuck. A staff member managed to slow the ferry down, but the vessel still slammed onto a rock near the shore of Helsinki while carrying 54 people, the Finnish coast guard told Reuters.

At the time, the captain said he was stuck in the bathroom due to a jammed lock. He tried yelling for help, but no one heard his calls. By the time the captain was freed by a staffer it was too late.

There were no serious injuries to the 54 total passengers on board at the time. The only injuries reported were bruises and some broken tableware the Coast Guard said. The coast guard is investigating whether the captain’s actions amounted to criminal endangerment.
