Pot Brownies Sicken 3 Seniors At funeral

Pot laced brownies at a funeral had sickened 3 senior citizens who were sent to the hospital after complaining of nausea, dizziness and the inability to stand without assistance. Two of the three were 71-year-old women and the third was an 82-year-old-man. Luckily, they all recovered from the experience.

As it turns out, it was a pot brownies funeral and no one knew that the desserts were laced. The three were attending the services of their friend who recently died. But, they didn’t know that their friend had a regular appetite for getting baked.

“The guy who passed away used to eat marijuana brownies,” Huntington Beach police Lt. Russell Reinhart said. “Someone set them out because he used to eat them, but no one knew what was in them, and they were sitting on a table, and people were snacking on them and three people got sick.”

“At the service, a tray of brownies were offered that has since been determined to have contained ‘medical’ marijuana,” officials said.

“There is a lot of desensitization by calling it medical marijuana,” Reinhart said. “There are still problems with medical marijuana because it is a drug, so it can make people sick. There are also crimes associated with it. I’m not saying that there are no other drug problems, but marijuana is a drug, and it does cause problems for law enforcement in the community.”

The three men were glad it was only a pot brownies funeral because they thought it was something far worse.
