Bobbi Parker, a former wife of a prison warden has been convicted of helping a prisoner escape 17 years ago. Parker lived in a house on the grounds of the Oklahoma state reformatory with her warden husband Randy Parker and their children. Knowing how the Oklahoma state prison operated Parker helped convicted killer Randolph Franklin Dial, and then disappearing with him.

Both Parker and Dial were not found until 2005 while leaving on a chicken ranch in Texas. The couple was reported to be living happily as husband and wife when found. On Wednesday, the now 49-year-old parker was convicted do aiding Dial in his escape by a Greer county jury.

Parker pleaded not guilty to the charge. Parker herself did not testify at her trial, but she contends that she aided Dial because, He drugged and kidnapped her, and then threatened to have his mob connections harm her family if she ran away or called for help. It just so happens Parker got charged a day before the statute of limitations would have expired for aiding Dial.

Parker showed no emotion as the verdict was read to her. “I will never quit until Bobbi Parker is a free woman,” said defense attorney Garvin Isaacs. “We had overwhelming evidence of Bobbi Parker’s innocence … We’re going to have another trial in this case. This case will be reversed on appeal.”

Dial himself who had been serving a life sentence for the murder of Kelly Dean Hogan, passed away at the age of 62 in 2007. Prior to his death though he had also backed Parkers side of the story.

Parker now faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. However, the jury that convicted her recommended a sentence of one year. Her sentencing is set for October 6th.
