Donald Trump has decided to be nice and extend the deadline for President Obama to reveal his college records and passport information due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.
Early last week, Trump tweeted that he had a big announcement that could potentially change the course of the 2012 Presidential Election. Then on October 24, Trump offered President Obama a check for $5 million to his charity of choice in return for the release of his college and passport applications and documentation.
Trump was giving Obama till Wednesday of this week to take him up on his offer, but due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy in the Northeast, he has decided to extend the deadline by one day.
The Don tweeted, “Because of the hurricane, I am extending my 5 million dollar offer for President Obama’s favorite charity until 12PM on Thursday.”
Regardless of the extension, when asked about it President Obama has already said he is not interested in Trump’s offer. Last week while on Jay Leno, he joked that Donald’s dislike for him and harassment over his birth place “dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya.”
Though Trump was called a fool by friend Barbara Walters and criticized by others over the offer, Trump says the overall response has been positive and still believes there is a chance Obama will take him up on the offer.
“I think there’s a chance,” he told TheDC. “A lot of people think he won’t because he’s got something to hide. I would love him to because I think if he did it, it would show everything is fine.”
Trump took another shot at the president this week by saying that Hurricane Sandy was just what Obama needed to win the election. On Tuesday he tweeted, “Hurricane is good luck for Obama again- he will buy the election by handing out billions of dollars.”
