What Is A Federalist? It is one of the first political parties in the United States.
What is a federalist? A Federalist describes several political beliefs, which was popular in the early history of the United States. The Federalist movement also supports ratification of the Constitution.
In addition, it may refer to the concept of federalism or the type of government called a federation. In early United States history, the Federalist Party was one of the first political parties. Its supporters called themselves Federalist. They included historic statesmen and public figures supporting ratification of the proposed Constitution of the United States between 1787 and 1789.
Federalist Papers are documents associated with their movement. Statesmen and public figures supporting the administrations of Presidents George Washington (1789–1797) and John Adams (1797–1801). Especially in the later years they were also called the Federalist Party, founded by Alexander Hamilton. It opposed the Democratic-Republican Party during the 1800s.
Contemporary
The Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy Studies is an organization of conservative and libertarian lawyers and others dedicated to debate of these principles. The World Federalist Movement involves world federalists supporting the creation of democratic global structures accountable to the citizens of the world and call for the division of international authority among separate agencies.
