Several retailers are dropping the price on Sony’s Blu-ray DVD players by 50 percent. Amazon already offers a half-price reduction for its Samsung BD-P1500 model which started last month.
Sony Blu-ray players and DVDs are being offered at half-price among several retailers. Amazon is already selling the Samsung BD-P1500 player for $184 plus 50 percent off on selected DVD movies.
Blu-ray BD-P1500 offers HD 1080p video output and features Dolby Digital Plus and TrueHD audio. The unit has a built-in Ethernet card to download the latest firmware upgrades over the Internet.

Some of the Blu-ray titled include Mad Men Season 1, Rambo 1-3 Boxset, Total Recall, The Bank Job, Stargate, The Punisher, and others. The DVD movies start at $9.99 each.
Amazon also has a buy-2-get-1-free Blu-ray disc promotion. Sony PS3 game titles are also slashed by 20 percent.
